Since 1980, Sumitomo Canada has been a trusted partner in the railway industry, importing high-quality rail from Japan and supplying essential components—including rails, crossties, tie plates, axles, and wheels—to Class 1 railroads, transit agencies, and railcar builders across Canada.

With over 40 years of experience, we work with trusted suppliers such as Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC), Standard Steel, Arkansas Steel Associates to ensure all our products meet and exceed industry standards. NSC, a global leader in rail metallurgy, continuously supports North American clients through product development, quality assurance, and on-site track monitoring, helping improve rail durability and reduce life-cycle costs.

Beyond supply, our Montreal team provides project development, inventory management, logistics solutions, financing, trade, and investment opportunities to support the evolving needs of the railway sector.
